In this competitive environment, time is money

Adams County and the City of Othello have not opted into Washington State Growth Management regulations.  This allows for a fast parallel track process to perform SEPA, platting and building review simultaneously with permits from application paper to construction in less than 120 days.

A simple and straight forward zoning map and comprehensive zoning plan provide a clear and definitive guide for projects to avoid delays from the basic land use issues.

Mitigation fees are based on growth paying for growth; no more, no less.  Traffic counts, fire flow and design standards are numerical factors to determine fees, not ambiguous and judgmental quality of life issues.

A slow and steady growth rate with a clear need to diversify commerce creates a local government attitude of problem solving and cost control.

Local utilities and the railroad are small enough to respond in a timely and reasonable manner providing answers early in the project that facilitate a minimum amount of modification as the project comes together.

In this competitive environment, time is money and changes cause delays.  In Othello, a business can come to the table, pay their fair share and be in operation as fast as you can produce the paperwork.
