Thank you for inquiring about a permit to reroof your home.  The reroof permit fee is $20.00 and allows you to reroof your home without submitting design details if, and only if, ALL of the following conditions are met.  Our Reroof Permit is viewable and printable so you can print it out, fill it in and return it to the City. 

1. You are reroofing a single family home or duplex dwelling.
2. You have a minimum roof slope of 2 inches of drop per foot of run.
3. There is no “flat roof”, patio, garage or add-on structure.
4. The old roof material will be removed down to bare sound wood.
5. Removed material will be disposed of in a proper dumpster.
6. All damaged or weak roof decking will be replaced.
7. All rusted flashing or tinwork will be replaced.
8. Attic venting is provided at 1 SF of vent for each 150 SF of attic space.
9. Install new roofing paper per manufacture’s instructions (double layer when under 3:12 pitch).
10. Install new roof material per manufacturer’s instructions.
11. Every bedroom, main hallway and the room with the highest ceiling must have a smoke alarm     installed per manufacturer’s instructions in conjunction with the roof replacement.
12. The work is being done under direct supervision of the property owner.
