The Othello Police Department has an authorized strength of 14 commissioned officers and a civilian staff of 6.5. The Othello Police Department provides law enforcement services to a diverse population of about 6200 residents.
The department strives to build positive relationships with our citizens, business community, visitors and our neighboring law enforcement agencies. By building relationships and partnerships I believe that we make our citizens confident in our willingness and ability to respond to their needs.
One of the principals used in establishing the first real Police Department, was “That the Police are the community and the community are the Police.” What Sir Peel meant by this was that it is important for the Police and the community to work together to solve issues of crime and disorder.
