Thank you for inquiring about a permit to place a fence on your residential property.  This fence permit fee is $20.00 and permits you to construct or reconstruct a fence without submitting a site plan and design details if, and only if, all of the following criteria are met. Our Fence Permit is viewable and printable so you can print it out, fill it in and return it to the City.

1. The fence is for residential use.
2. The fence is made of new wood, vinyl or steel materials.
3. The fence is not built of concrete or masonry (except base of posts).
4. The fence does not have any sharp or protruding edges.
5. The fence is being constructed under the supervision of the property owner (not contracted).
6. The fence is on your property (not public right-of-way). 
7. The fence is more than 13 feet from the curb face. 
8. The front yard fence is no more than 3 feet high.
9. The backyard fence is no more than 6 feet high.
10. The backyard fence must have at least one gate.
11. The backyard fence is at least 45 feet from the curb radius on a corner lot.
12. The backyard fence does not extend beyond the front of any adjacent house.

NOTICE:  All fences built on easements MUST BE removed BY THE OWNER UPON REQUEST OF ANY UTILITY.

If your project does not comply with ALL of the above conditions, the project may still be possible, but you may need to apply for a building permit, which requires more detailed information and is more expensive.  Please submit the site plan and/or design drawings/building permit application for review and approval by the plans examiner.
