Monday through Friday | | Public Works Department: | The City of Othello Public Works is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all city properties, structures and infrastructures. Public Works encompasses four divisions, Water, Sewer, Streets and Parks. The Public Works Department includes Municipal Services Coordinator, Records Clerk and 8 Maintenance Workers. | | Water Division: | The City of Othello Water Division provides a safe and dependable supply of drinking water that meets or exceeds all federal and state requirements. The City of Othello is served by seven wells. The wells pump water from the Wanapum Aquifer. Pumped water is fed directly into the distribution system. Water is stored in three stand-pipe reservoirs within the City. Full volume capacity totals about six million gallons. Pressure throughout the distribution system is the result of the height of the water in the reservoirs. The storage volume provides protection against fire, power outages, high water use periods, and whether the pumps can meet the demand on the system. The Water Division responsibilities include water line construction and maintenance, meter reading, well construction and maintenance, water testing and reporting to Department of Health, installation of new customer meters, line locating, etc. | | Sewer Division: |  The Sewer Division provides dependable disposal of domestic wastewaters through a grid collection system that transports the wastewater to our treatment facility. Our Treatment Facility is a series of lagoons that clean the water through a natural process involving beneficial bacteria, sunlight and plants. When the “cleaned” water leaves our system it flows into Owl Creek. The Sewer Division responsibilities include sewer main construction and maintenance, sewer main jetting and cleaning, lift station maintenance, lagoon maintenance, lab testing and reporting to Department of Ecology, etc. | | Streets Division: |   The Streets Division works to provide safe, clean and dependable roadways throughout the City of Othello.
The Street Division responsibilities include new street construction, repair/replacement of older streets, asphalt patching, snow plowing, utility patching, weed control in curb areas, street sweeping, crosswalk and line painting, sign placement and repair, emergency signage for power outages and signage for construction areas involving city workers, etc. | | Parks Division: | The Parks Division provides the citizens of Othello with clean, fun and attractive facilities in Lion’s, Kiwanis, Pioneer and Triangle parks.
