“Friends of the Library” meet the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:00 at the library and The Book Nook is open the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 1:00 - 3:00.

The City of Othello entered into a contract with Mid Columbia Library District (MCL) in 1994. MCL operates a regional library system with well over 500,000 volumes of material available by access of computer and CD-ROM networks for the library patrons throughout the Columbia Basin. The Othello Branch has 35,000 volumes of material available for it's patrons, with access to the entire MCL catalog of materials. The contract includes a commitment from the City for an annual payment to MCL, and the city owns and operates the building. MCL provides for library materials, staff, programs and services. Recent upgrades include remodeling of the children's area, and the adult book sections, new carpeting, shelves and painting have been completed.

In 2001, the City of Othello entered into an inter-local agreement with Adams County Rural Library District No.1, a municipal corporation. The Adams County Rural Library District No.1 was formed as a junior taxing district that levies property taxes to provide funding for the library services. The City maintains the current contract with MCL to operate the library services, and the Adams County Rural Library District No.1 reimburses the City from their property tax collection.
